Western Connecticut Health Network has created an environment for continuous learning, discovery and innovation to keep physicians and staff educated in the latest advances to benefit our patients. Recent developments have included grant funding for medical education and nursing focused on primary and geriatric care, respectively, and a cohort program to help nurses advanced their skills and careers. Every year, we train more than 100 physician residents, as well as students in nursing and many technological fields. Clinical advancements have included da Vinci® robotic surgery and Danbury Hospital’s third designation by the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program for its “exemplary” outcomes in surgical patient care. Our ongoing Tower Expansion Project and newly opened Biomedical Research Institute will pave the way for more advances in patient care and scientific inquiry to help us prepare tomorrow’s workforce and carry out our vision for generations to come.
