Dr. Pierre Saldinger is a highly skilled surgeon specialized in the surgical treatment of abdominal cancers at Danbury Hospital. He holds the Carmen L. and Peter Buck Chair in Surgery, and serves as Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Director of the Surgical Residency Program and Chairman of the Medical Education Committee. He specializes in surgical treatment of cancer and other disorders of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts stomach as well as retroperitoneal sarcomas.
A Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Dr. Saldinger previously held academic appointments at New York Medical College and Harvard Medical School.
Over the last 10 years, he has worked to monitor and improve quality in the Department of Surgery through the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP), and to build expertise for patients with gastrointestinal cancers at the Hospital’s Praxair Cancer Center.
