Nuclear Medicine, Department of Medicine
Nuclear medicine involves the use of radioactive isotopes to both diagnose and treat illness and injury. This technology is safe and painless.
Just as x-rays provide information about the condition of bones and other parts of the body’s structure, nuclear medicine scans provide information about how different parts of the body function.
At Danbury Hospital, our board certified Nuclear Medicine doctors have extensive experience and training in their specialties, which include radioactive isotopes, nuclear medicine, bone density, Scintigraphy and PET/CT.
