Western Connecticut Home Care
Wellness on Wheels (WOW) is a unique mobile health program for families with limited access to medical care in Danbury. Clinics are staffed by a doctor, registered nurse, bilingual immunization outreach worker, social worker, and driver/assistant. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis with sick patients seen first.
With the exception of some adult immunizations and TB testing, most services provided on the WOW van are free of charge. Donations are welcome.
WOW Services include:
- Physicals for school and work for those who have no insurance
- Sick visits
- Immunization for school and work
- Well child visits
- Screenings, including blood pressure, hemoglobin, and lead testing
- TB testing and referrals
- Health education
