Swallowing Evaluation and Therapy
We offer evaluation and treatment by a speech-language pathologist for people who find chewing and swallowing difficult.
Treatment includes determining food textures and thickness of liquids that an individual can safely swallow without choking or aspirating (food entering the lungs). Additionally, our staff provides expertise on exercises to strengthen the muscles of the mouth, tongue, and techniques for safe eating and swallowing.
Our staff currently provides Modified Barium Swallow studies and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) for individuals with swallow disorders.
