Diabetes Club Jeopardy
The Diabetes Club of Danbury, a support group for people with diabetes, their families and friends, features a series of guest speaker programs and special presentations dedicated to discussions about living well with diabetes. The next meeting takes place on Monday, April 19, 2010, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the John C. Creasy Center for Health Education auditorium at Danbury Hospital. Park free in the Blue Visitor’s parking lot located on Hospital Avenue in Danbury.
The featured speaker will be Molly Kirschner, RD, CDE, CD-N, Clinical Manager, Animas Corporation (A Johnson & Johnson Company). She will invite attendees to play “Diabetes Jeopardy,” a question and answer game that tests one’s overall knowledge regarding diabetes and diabetes management. The program also discusses continual glucose monitoring for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Prizes will be awarded.
The Diabetes Club of Danbury meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Monday during the months of March, April, May, September and October. “The goal of the free diabetes education program is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes,” said Dr. Robert Ruxin, certified diabetes educator and medical director of The Diabetes Club of Danbury.
