13th Annual National Cancer Survivor Day

Sunday, June 06, 2010 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM - Ethan Allen Hotel

Danbury Hospital Praxair Cancer Center

The Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital, in partnership with Ann’s Place, The Home of I CAN and the American Cancer Society is pleased to invite our cancer patients/survivors and a guest to our 13th Annual National Cancer Survivors Day®

Join us for a morning that celebrates you! Spend time with old friends or make new ones, have a lovely breakfast and enjoy musical performance by our local Immaculate High School Concert Choir and laugh along with our featured speaker, Tom Hayes.

Tom Hayes

Tom Hayes is a first-rate comedian. He's quick, articulate, clean, animated and just plain funny. Hayes completely epitomizes the "Can Do" Role Model. Even though he lost a leg to cancer at age 12, it is not uncommon to see him go zooming down the ski slopes or bungee jumping from hundreds of feet up. There isn't a challenge Tom has not enthusiastically faced head on especially if someone said couldn’t be done.

National Cancer Survivors Day 2010Along with a very successful business career Tom has been performing for the last 20 years as a first-rate standup comedian, humorist and speaker. In 1986, he received the “Funniest Person” award by Showtime Cable Network. His act is a rare combination of magic, comedy and salesmanship. Come and enjoy a presentation full of humor with the practical advice of how the game of life is really won day after day.

A “cancer survivor” is defined as anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life.
