Return to Danbury Department of Surgery
Procedures

Our surgeons perform both open, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries for the management of conditions ranging from benign endometriosis and soft tissue tumors to advanced ovarian, uterine and cervical cancers and the occasional rare pelvic tumor. The program also offers surgical management of recurrent gynecologic cancers and revisions of previously unsuccessful surgical excisions. Surgical cases are reviewed and treatment plans, including follow-up radiation and chemotherapy, are discussed at bi-weekly Tumor Board conferences attended by a multidisciplinary team that includes surgical and medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists as needed.

Some procedures performed in our gynecology/oncology department include:

  • Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer
  • Radiation for Advanced Endometrial and Ovarian Cancers
  • (HDR) Brachytherapy In Radiation Oncology
  • Radical Lymph Node Dissections
