New Milford Hospital Hosts bi-Monthly Author’s Series December 4th

New Milford Hospital will host the next bi-monthly Author’s Series on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 6 p.m. The guest author will be Matthew Warshauer, who wrote "Connecticut in the American Civil War: Slavery, Sacrifice, and Survival." The program takes place in Robison Room B at New Milford Hospital, located at 21 Elm Street.

In his book "Connecticut in the American Civil War: Slavery, Sacrifice, and Survival," Warshauer explains how extensively the state was involved in the conflict: sending more than thirty regiments to the front, had a broad industrial capacity, an active home front, and is currently home to more than 130 Civil War monuments.

Dr. Matthew Warshauer is a professor of history at Central Connecticut State University and co-chair of the Connecticut Civil War Commemoration Commission.

Seating is limited. To register, please call 1-800-350-1595. The next program in the bi-monthly Author’s Lecture Series at New Milford Hospital will resume in the spring.
