A Day to Make a Difference Pediatric Auction Creates “Fairy Tale” Ambiance for Guests
The Danbury Hospital Development Fund, Inc. requests the pleasure of your company at the 15th A Day to Make a Difference pediatric auction on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 7 p.m. The fairy-tale inspired evening takes place at the Ethan Allen Hotel, 21 Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury, where proceeds from a silent and live auction will benefit Danbury Hospital’s pediatric programs and services.
This year’s theme “Once Upon a Time” is sure to evoke warm memories of childhood; listening as our parents read enchanting fairy tales that fueled our imaginations with flights of fancy, magical worlds, and happily ever-afters. The “Once Upon a Time” pediatric auction theme also celebrates the Department of Pediatrics very own dream come true - the creation of the Danbury Hospital Children’s Health and Wellness Center at 79 Sand Pit Road in Danbury”, said Susan Kania, director of Donor Relations and Stewardship, Danbury Hospital Development Fund.
The event also includes cocktails, dinner by the bite, a silent auction that starts at 7 p.m., followed by the Heart of Gold Award presentation at 9 p.m., and a live auction beginning at 9:30 p.m.
Jennifer Roy of Danbury, event chairwoman, along with honorary committee member Isabelle Farrington, and a dedicated group of “Lords and Ladies” are working diligently to create an evening of food, fun and dreams come true that is certain to be a “knight” to remember for all who attend.
Trisha and Eric Bam of the Foster Davis Foundation will be presented with the 2009 Heart of Gold Award in recognition of their overwhelming generosity which is paving the way for a new, state of the art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Introduced in 2003, the Heart of Gold Award pays tribute to individuals whose tireless efforts make a difference in the lives of children. Past Heart of Gold recipients include Paul P. Dinto, Humberto Bauta, M.D., Willet Bowen, M.D., Alvin Goldman, Ann Hines, M.D., Robert Joy, M.D., Martin Randolph, M.D., and L. Robert Rubin, M.D.
A Day to Make a Difference guests will have the opportunity to bid on auction items that include theme gift baskets created by Danbury Hospital employees, and much more.
