May 4th Breakfast Will Support Regional Hospice
Members of the Danbury Fundraising Chapter of Regional Hospice are finalizing plans for their Spring Breakfast to be held on Tuesday, May 4th from 8:00-9:00 a.m. at The Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury. Debbie Lajoie, BSN, MSN, RN, Ph.D. (candidate) will be the featured speaker for the event. Ms. Lajoie is well known in the Danbury community for her active role as a community volunteer and organizer of The Mayor’s Ball, and as the past undergraduate coordinator of the Western Connecticut State University nursing program. She will speak about Regional Hospice from a nursing educator perspective, and will also share how her life was personally touched when her mother benefitted from Regional Hospice care.
Table sponsorships are available for $100 or individual tickets for $20 each, with proceeds benefiting the programs of Regional Hospice. Funds raised help cover the cost of providing care for anyone in our service area regardless of their ability to pay, spiritual counseling and bereavement support, extensive volunteer services, and The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families. Thanks to the generosity of the community, this past year Regional Hospice provided more than $600,000 in community benefit.
Regional Hospice helps friends and loved ones manage the stress of life-limiting illness. The agency’s staff brings compassion combined with clinical skill to ease pain and manage symptoms so people can live with comfort and dignity. Last year alone more than 500 families benefited from our hospice and home care programs and another 950 received help from The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families.
“We are grateful to the chapter volunteers who have organized this wonderful event and to the local businesses and merchants who have donated so many raffle prize items,” says Cynthia Roy Squitieri, Regional Hospice executive director. “We appreciate the support of so many people in Danbury who help us deliver expert care with hope, compassion and respect for each family’s individual needs.”
Members of the Danbury Fundraising Chapter include Irene Anderson, Hilda Barrett, Judy Batewell, Justine Erdmann, Marybeth Hamilton, Louise Klecha, Ruth Lewis, Louise McDevitt and Mary Anne Moore.
