Danbury VNA Holds Vacation Flu Clinics
Danbury Visiting Nurse Association will hold daily flu clinics during school vacation week to give families additional opportunities to receive a flu shot and to meet the January 1, 2011 deadline for pre-school age children attending day care to be vaccinated against the flu. A new State of Connecticut Department of Public Health law requires all children 6 to 59 months of age to receive a flu vaccine if they plan to attend a daycare center, group day care home, or family day care home. Children must be vaccinated by January 1, 2011 and each year thereafter.
Clinics will be held at the Danbury VNA, 4 Liberty Street, Danbury on Monday, December 27, 2010 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday through Thursday, December 28 – 30th 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The clinics are open to anyone wishing to get a flu shot. Walk-ins are welcome, but to avoid lines participants may register on-line or via phone. To register for a clinic or for a full schedule of clinics visit DanburyVNA.org or call the flu hotline at 203-730-5239. The DVNA offers standard injectable vaccine, high-dose formula for those 65 and over, preservative free and nasal mist for children and adults.
