Healing Hearts Talking With Kids About Death and Grieving
When a loved one dies it may be difficult to know how to help children cope. Children grieve differently than adults and may not be able to put grief into words. They may feel uncomfortable expressing themselves in ways that adults expect. To help parents and caregivers learn more about kids’ needs and how to talk with them about their loss, The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families will host a special workshop, “Talking With Kids About Death and Grieving,” on May 19, 2010, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
The workshop will be led by Mary Condron, LCSW. Ms. Condron is both a lead facilitator at The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families and a medical social worker for Regional Hospice’s clinical programs. She has a diverse background in social work and special expertise in working with children.
The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families, a program of Regional Hospice, offers numerous support groups, workshops and programs to the public free of cost throughout the year.
