Feel Like Dancing? Danbury and New Milford Hospitals’ Host the Second Annual Spirit of Women Day of Dance
Danbury and New Milford Hospitals’ celebrate National Heart Month by conducting a heart healthy Spirit of Women, Day of Dance® at Danbury Fair, 7 Backus Avenue, Danbury, on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Join us for an afternoon of dance-fever inspired events that take place from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in the Mall’s Center Court (lower level). So, put on your boogie shoes and dance your way to better health because audience participation is welcome and encouraged.
Danbury and New Milford Hospitals’ Spirit of Women, Day of Dance® features upbeat music and dances including ballroom, Rumba, hip hop, ballet, and more, performed by local dance professionals and dance groups. While you’re there, get a free heart health risk assessment and screenings that include blood pressure, cholesterol, vascular, weight, bone and joint health. Health screenings occur simultaneously, and you will also have an opportunity to talk with the experts (our doctors) about ways you can take action to be heart smart and improve your overall health and well-being.
“Dancing with the Stars” Competition
Don’t miss our version of “Dancing with the Stars” competition at 3 p.m. where you, along with a panel of judges, will watch and vote for a dancing doctor or nurse from Danbury and New Milford Hospitals who will compete for the coveted trophy. Bring your friends and family to dance, learn simple ways to stay healthy, participate in health screenings and enjoy great prizes and giveaways!

For women of all ages, dancing and other aerobic exercise help prevent heart disease, the number one cause of death in women.
