Western Connecticut Home Care Receives Grant to provide Medical Alert Service
For the second consecutive year, Western Connecticut Home Care has received a grant from the Savings Bank of Danbury to provide the Philips Lifeline medical alert service to patients who are at high risk for falling. Philips Lifeline is a medical alert service that provides immediate help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in the event of a fall or other emergency.
The grant allows Western Connecticut Home Care to enhance its Fall Prevention Program, which provides evaluation and services to patients to help prevent falls, by giving patients the added protection of Lifeline with the AutoAlert. The AutoAlert personal help button can detect a fall and initiate a call for help automatically when the patient cannot press the button. Patients have fast access to help, aiding in reducing the impact of injuries resulting from falls.
