Danbury Hospital Emergency Department Staff Host "Stuff an Ambulance" Food Drive

Friday, June 22, 2012 - Danbury, CT

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

On Friday, June 29th from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm the staff of the Danbury Hospital Emergency Department will host a food drive to benefit the Connecticut Food Bank. They aim to fill an entire ambulance with food, and to achieve this goal, the support of the community and Western Connecticut Health Network staff is needed.

While summer may not seem like a time of hardship, the food bank needs more help than ever to keep its reserves full for residents in need. There are more people using the food bank now than ever before so every donation is critical. Anyone in the community who plans to drop off food donations are asked to enter the Emergency Department parking lot through the Locust Avenue entrance. Hospital staff will be waiting to carry the donations to the ambulance; nobody will need to exit their vehicle. Once the donation has been made, participants will be asked to promptly exit the parking lot. All donations are greatly appreciated!
