Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation Adds New Associate Board Member
The Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation announces the election of Agostinho J. Ribeiro, Esq. of Danbury to the Foundation's Associate Board.

About Agostinho J. Ribeiro, Esq.
A Civil Trial lawyer, Attorney Agostinho Ribeiro serves as Managing Partner of Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith, a legal practice formed in 1991 where he has successfully represented and settled over 5,000 civil cases.In 2010 and 2011, Attorney Ribeiro was named to the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Connecticut" by the National Trial Lawyers Association and was elected by his peers to its Board of Governors. He is a member of the Leaders Forum, a select group of attorneys recognized by the American Association of Justice, and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Group.
Born in New York City, Attorney Ribeiro opened a branch office in the World Trade Center in 1992 where he concentrated in Federal Court litigation. After September 11, 2001, Attorney Ribeiro and the law firm of Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith represented victims of the World Trade Center disaster pro bono and were nationally honored for their volunteer efforts in this regard.
He also is a founding member of the Portuguese Bar Association of Connecticut, and was one of the founders of the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury, where he served as its first President and is a sitting member of the Board of Trustees. Attorney Ribeiro also serves as a Commissioner on the Danbury Downtown City Center Commission and has been a strong advocate for downtown revitalization and unity.

The Associate Board of the Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation assists the Board of the Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation, particularly with regard to fundraising, social events, educational programs and heightened awareness of and increased participation in the activities of Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital and Western Connecticut Health Network. In addition, the Associate Board is also a source of candidates for future Directors of the Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation Board.
The Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation, Inc. mobilizes philanthropic support to benefit and advance the programs and services of Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital and Western Connecticut Health Network. The foundation helps to secure, manage, and distribute charitable gifts that support the mission of the hospitals and the network.
