Well-Known Monroe Businessman and Philanthropist Donates to Western Connecticut Health Network Expansion Project

Sippin Gift to Expansion Project

Monroe, CT businessman, Bernard "Bernie" Sippin and wife, Lorraine, well known in the community of Monroe for their successful businesses and generous spirit, have made a $100,000 donation to the Western Connecticut Health Network Capital Campaign to benefit the Danbury Hospital expansion project.

Mr. Sippin was recognized as Monroe's Outstanding Citizen of the Year in 2011 by the Town of Monroe and is known as one of the town's most philanthropic residents. He shared, "It is important to my family to support Western Connecticut Health Network and the building of the new Patient Tower and Emergency Department at Danbury Hospital. We know this project and the hospital will continue to benefit the health and well-being our community."

The hospital's expansion project includes a new patient tower, an expanded Emergency Department and a host of patient-centered features. It is expected to be completed in the spring of 2014.

WCHN's Imagine Build Transform fundraising campaign

Through its Imagine Build Transform campaign, WCHN is reimagining and expanding facilities to increase access to high quality care and ensure that it always responsive to patients' needs. The campaign's priorities include significant investments in facilities, research and technologies at Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital and the WCHN Biomedical Research Institute.
