Clifford J. Appel, MD, a longstanding Danbury-based specialist in gastroenterology, has been appointed to Western Connecticut Medical Group (WCMG), the 250-member multispecialty physician practice affiliated with Danbury and New Milford hospitals. He will serve patients at the WCMG Gastroenterology office located in the Danbury Hospital Medical Arts Center, 111 Osborne Street, in association with Joseph Fiorito, MD, David Barenberg, MD, Steven Brandwein, MD, Scott Estabrook, MD, Adam Gorelick, MD, Steven Gorelick, MD, Miechelle O’Brien, MD, PhD, Marvin Prince, MD, and Michael Schiffman, MD. Dr. Appel was previously associated in private practice with Danbury Internal Medicine Associates, and has been a member of the Danbury Hospital medical staff since 1986.

Board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Appel graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, New York. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, New York, and an internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, New York. Dr. Appel earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University.
