Danbury Hospital Global Health Evening Shares Experiences of Extreme Violence Suffered by Women of South Kivu in the Congo

Monday, October 28, 2013 - Danbury, CT

Dr. Majid Sadigh, Director of Global Health at Danbury Hospital/Western Connecticut Health Network, has announced the next Global Health Evening at Danbury Hospital will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5:30 to 7 pm. The program will be conducted at Danbury Hospital in the Gerard D. Robilotti Conference Room located on the 5th floor, Tower Building. Fellow colleagues, physicians, medical students, residents and the community are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

The Global Health Evening featured speaker on Nov. 13th will be Cleophace "Cleo" Mukeba, founder of the Vermont Ibutwa Initiative. His presentation, "Breaking Silence-Rape with Extreme Violence in the Eastern Democratic of Congo" shares the experiences of women of South Kivu in the Congo who have suffered sexual violence, and the Initiative’s mission to help them heal, rebuild their lives, as well as to bring attention to the suffering in eastern Congo.
