Staples High School Junior Donates Hand Knitted Gifts for Pediatric Patients at Danbury Hospital

Wednesday, April 30, 2014 - Danbury, CT

Kids Care Club - Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation

Killian Jampierre, an 11th grade student at Staples High School in Westport, recently donated an assortment of hand knitted headbands and purses to benefit pediatric patients at Danbury Hospital. This is the second contribution she has presented to the Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) Foundation's Kids Care Club.

Six months ago, Jampierre donated an assortment of handmade accessories including hats and scarves as part of a community service project for her Westport school. Both projects took approximately 100 hours of knitting to complete. Chief Foundation Officer Grace Linhard said, "We continue to be amazed by Killian’s knitting skills and her continued, compassionate interest in making such lovely handmade items for the pediatric patients at Danbury Hospital."

Killian Jampierre is a member of the Western Connecticut Health Network Kids Care Club at Danbury Hospital, a philanthropic organization for children and young adults under the age of 18. For more information on the Kids Care Club, please call the Western Connecticut Health Network Foundation office at 203-739-7227 or 860-210-5270.

About Kids Care Club

The Kids Care Club at Western Connecticut Health Network encourages children under the age of 18 to make donations in support of pediatric programs and services at Danbury Hospital and/or New Milford Hospital. Donations help purchase toys, videos/movies, video games and systems, and more to make children’s hospital stays more comfortable. Children raise funds in many ways, including: asking friends and family for donations; organizing penny drives, lemonade stands, or other events; raising funds in lieu of birthday gifts; or donating a portion of their allowance.
