Western Connecticut Medical Group Opens Newtown Family Healthcare

The Western Connecticut Medical Group is pleased to announce the opening of Newtown Family Healthcare, a Family medicine practice now led by Dr. Naomi Smidt-Afek, MD, MHPE.

The practice, formerly the Family Health Care Center of Newtown, has been operating in Monroe as new technology was installed to contemporize the delivery of care at the Newtown site.

Dr. Smidt-Afek is a graduate of the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Israel and completed her family medicine Residency in Israel and at St. Claire’s Hospital Family Practice Program. Dr. Smidt-Afek, Board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, is an Assistant Professor in the Family Medicine Department of New York Medical College and is a Reviewer for the Family Medicine Journal.

Other members of the accomplished care team at Newtown Family Healthcare include physician’s assistant, Nya Rossi, PA, and advanced practice registered nurse Maureen Engel, APRN and Jessica Stellato, APRN.

Newtown Family Healthcare is located at 33 Church Hill Road in building #2 on the second floor. Hours of operation are:

Monday - 8:00am-5:00pm
Tuesday - 7:00am-6:00pm
Wednesday – 8:00am – 5:00pm
Thursday – 7:00am – 6:00pm
Friday – 8:00am – 5:00pm
