Department of Anesthesiology
The Department of Anesthesiology at Danbury Hospital is dedicated to the care of surgical patients, in collaboration with surgeons and other specialists. Our work begins before surgery and continues through the post-operative period.
Our anesthesiologists perform anesthetic interventions in 14 operating suites, and additional locations in Radiology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology and Pulmonology.
Patient Safety and Comfort
- Our anesthesiology team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond for emergency surgical procedures (including all subspecialties), cardiac and respiratory arrests, pain consultations, and obstetric coverage
- We develop a unique anesthetic plan for each individual patient and employ a full range of techniques to ensure patient safety and satisfaction
- Our specialty staff is experienced in employing anesthetic techniques including general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, spinal and epidural anesthesia, and “twilight” anesthesia (or monitored anesthesia care)
- For advanced invasive procedures, we combine state-of-the-art techniques to improve outcomes, shorten lengths of stay, and minimize patient discomfort
The Department of Anesthesiology is a teaching site of New York Medical College with four anesthesia residents receiving training at Danbury Hospital.
