Sleep Disorders Center
The Sleep Disorders Center provides clinical sleep evaluations for patients undergoing pre-surgical screening at the Danbury Hospital Center for Weight Loss Surgery. The sleep evaluation is conducted to identify and treat patients at risk for sleep apnea syndrome, a common sleep-related breathing disorder among overweight patients known to increase the risk for perioperative complications. Identification and treatment of sleep apnea in this population has been shown to improve surgical outcomes and recovery time.
