Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
An EMT takes a substantial leap in both education and responsibilities when he or she becomes a paramedic. The education that paramedics receive provides them with a broad foundation of knowledge in pre-hospital emergency care principles. Airway management, pharmacology and cardiac monitoring are some of the key advanced care skills utilized by a paramedic.
To qualify for Paramedic Training, the student must possess a current State of Connecticut Emergency Medical Technician certificate.
The Connecticut Department of Public Health provides information regarding programs for Paramedic training and certification. Visit online at CT.gov/dph
