Emergency Medicine at Danbury Hospital works in partnership with Danbury Emergency Medical Systems (EMS) to provide emergency care and transportation to the members of our community and surrounding areas.
The EMS program at Danbury Hospital provides a fully integrated, single tiered advanced life support system capable of staffing four paramedic level ambulances during peak hours. Our paramedics are highly trained pre-hospital care providers capable of managing the most challenging and stressful patient care scenarios.
Paramedics are trained to rapidly assess patients and are equipped with an array of emergency medications, airway management tools, cardiac monitor and defibrillator units, and trauma management skills. Our rapid first response fire engines and careful monitoring of EMS system activity have enabled Danbury Hospital to achieve response times well above the industry standard.
