Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine
Internal Medicine is a section of the Department of Medicine that specializes in Primary Care for adults. Our doctors, called internists, are specialists in adult general medicine, preventive medicine, and the diagnosis and care of common medical conditions. We provide the majority of medical care needed by adult patients, and help to coordinate care when specialists are needed.
Our doctors provide:
- Primary and preventative care for adolescent and adult patients (age at which care begins varies from practice to practice)
- Diagnosis and treatment for common medical conditions
- Referrals to and coordination with specialists when needed
