Pulmonary Disease treats a full range of pulmonary or lung conditions. We provide care for patients with critical illness, thoracic diseases and sleep-related disorders.
Our doctors are part of a multidisciplinary team, working in partnership with critical care and theĀ Sleep Disorders Center to deliver our patients a higher level of care.
The Section of Pulmonary Disease is a multidisciplinary team comprised of Pulmonary and Critical Care board-certified doctors, and many are also board-certified in Sleep Medicine. We have multiple nurse practitioners and a board-certified Sleep Medicine Clinical Psychologist. We are committed to delivering the highest quality and safest comprehensive level of care possible for a full range of pulmonary conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
We offer a variety of ancillary services, including pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing (with exercise prescriptions), bronchoscopy, overnight sleep studies, and a pulmonary rehabilitation program. Our unparalleled leadership within the hospital is exemplified by the prominent roles many of faculty members assume, including Chairperson of Medicine, Chief Medical Information Officer, and Directors of Respiratory Care, The Sleep Center, Critical Care Unit, Pulmonary Function Laboratory, and The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program.
Our members serve on many hospital committees, including Medical Affairs, Peer Review, Ethics Committee, The Lung Tumor Board, and The Internal Medicine Residency Review Committee.
The Section of Pulmonary Disease also provides a 24-hour Critical Care and Inpatient Consultation Service. Our commitment to discovery and innovation has led to publications of original research in peer-reviewed journals, and in the innovative technologies brought to the institution, including interventional bronchoscopy, minimally invasive cardiac monitoring, cooling therapy, and Glidescope intubation.
