The Pulmonary Function Laboratory at Danbury Hospital provides a full range of lung diagnostic services within a state-of-the art facility. Our doctors, nurses and support staff are dedicated to delivering the highest standards of excellence.

Common Pulmonary Tests Performed

As part of diagnosis or treatment, many specialized pulmonary function tests are performed at the Pulmonary Function Laboratory. These include:

  • Spirometry
  • Spirometry after Bronchodilator
  • Flow-Volume Loops
  • Single Breath Diffusing Capacity (DLCO)
  • Helium Dilution Lung Volumes
  • Body Plethysmographic Lung Volumes
  • Arterial Blood Gas Analysis
  • Pulse Oximetry
  • Sputum Induction

Such tests may be used to evaluate respiratory disorders, including lung volumes and flow rates, diffusion studies, occupational and disability screening, arterial blood drawing and analysis, bronchial provocation and nutritional assessments.
