Danbury Hospital offers a variety of pregnancy services to assist women who are thinking about starting a family or who are already pregnant.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Maternal-fetal medicine physicians provide care before and during pregnancy to women at increased risk for complications due to medical conditions or genetic factors. Also known as perinatologists, these specialists work closely with the woman’s obstetrician/gynecologistinfertility experts and others to ensure the health of both mother and baby.

Prenatal Genetic Counseling

Women and their partners can meet with a board-certified genetic counselor to discuss issues that may impact a future or current pregnancy, such as a family history of genetic disorders or other concerns. Genetic counseling services range from informational one-on-one sessions to sophisticated testing to gather specific genetic information.

Family Birth Center

At the Family Birth Center, women have access to doctors, nurses and other experts who provide a comprehensive continuum of care, including labor and delivery, personalized delivery plans, breastfeeding supporteducational classes and much more.
