Outpatient Infusion Center
The Outpatient Infusion Center at Danbury Hospital offers convenience for patients who require frequent infusions of medications, including those with central lines. We are committed to providing our patients with the latest technologies in intravenous therapy in a safe, controlled environment.
We provide comprehensive infusion services for infants, children, teens and adults, including patients:
- Requiring intravenous antibiotics
- Needing blood transfusions
- Being treated with IV Boniva and Reclast for osteoporosis
- Needing Remicade and Orencia infusions for Crohn’s disease or rheumatoid arthritis
- Needing special lab testing
- Needing special IV catheters placed such as PICCs and midlines
- Needing a variety of intravenous and injectable medications
We maintain high standards of service, quality, and care, with dedication and compassion for all of our patients.
At the Outpatient Infusion Center, we take a multidisciplinary approach to care working with doctors from many specialties including infectious disease, oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, orthopedics, endocrinology, rheumatology, nephrology, internal medicine, and surgery.
Our nurses are experienced in infusion therapy and have received national recognition for innovation in their specialty. The Outpatient Infusion Center at Danbury Hospital is considered a "Best Practice Model," and our nurses have served as consultants to other infusion centers across the country.
We are open 8 hours a day, 365 days a year, with easy access to hospital resources in the case of complex problems or emergencies.
