Pediatric Inpatient Program

The pediatric inpatient unit provides short-stay and acute care inpatient services for infants and children from newborns through the age of 16. Common admission diagnoses include asthma, gastroenteritis, and diabetes.

The unit has trained pediatric nursing, non-invasive monitoring, 24-hour accommodations for parents, breastfeeding support, and a child-friendly playroom and environment. Support services from nutrition, behavioral health, and other specialty services are also available.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Sometimes newborns come into the world with complications. Danbury Hospital offers an advanced intensive care unit for newborns.  Danbury Hospital maintains a Level IIIB NICU to care for premature babies and those who are ill at birth.
