Multidisciplinary Care

At the Praxair Cancer Center, our patients are supported by medical professionals from many specialties that come together to review your diagnosis and treatment.

Evidence indicates that a team approach to cancer care can improve the quality of care patients receive. This integrated approach, known as "multidisciplinary care," involves gathering input from a variety of healthcare specialists who work together to develop the best treatment plan possible, personalized to each patient’s situation and medical history.

Individual Case Review

National guidelines call for case review in 10% of newly diagnosed cancer cases. At the Praxair Cancer Center, more than 80% of newly diagnosed patients benefit from our case reviews (also known as “tumor boards”).

Our case review teams include representatives from:

Together, these experienced healthcare professionals evaluate each individual case, carefully considering and discussing possible treatment options based on the patient’s overall health, test results, type of cancer, and individual circumstances. It’s our goal to bring the widest possible range of expertise, knowledge, and experience so that we can develop the best treatment possible for each individual patient.
