Smoking Cessation and the “Quit Now” Program

If you smoke or use tobacco, quitting is the most important step you can take to improve the length and quality of your life.

At Danbury Hospital, we know that quitting is not easy. Nicotine - the drug naturally found in tobacco - is addictive, and many people become physically and emotionally dependent on it. Our “Quit Now” approach uses multiple types of support to help you successfully and permanently break this addiction.

“Quit Now” combines medication therapy, behavior modification, and ongoing support services. As part of the “Quit Now” program, you will learn the basics of nicotine addiction, methods for quitting and behavior modification, exercise and nutrition, stress management and relaxation, and relapse prevention.

Danbury Hospital can also direct you to other smoking cessation resources, including acupuncture, herbalists and hypnotherapy.
