Female Urology and Urogynecology

Urologic surgeons at Danbury Hospital are experienced in treating pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.

Pelvic Reconstruction (Pelvic Organ Prolapse)

Danbury Hospital’s board-certified urologic surgeons have extensive experience treating pelvic organ prolapse using including minimally invasive surgical techniques.

In pelvic organ prolapse, the vagina and the organs that surround and support it fall from their normal position. Danbury Hospital gynecologists, urogynecologists and reconstructive surgery specialists work closely together to evaluate and treat the different types of pelvic organ prolapse.

Urinary Incontinence

Stress incontinence, which is more common in women, causes urine to leak when you laugh or cough. Overactive bladder, also called urge incontinence, is caused by urinary muscle spasms that cause an urgency to urinate. Incontinence can also be caused by multiple pregnancies, being overweight and genetic weaknesses.

Urologists at Danbury Hospital have extensive experience successfully treating all types of urinary incontinence.
