School of Medical Technology

Danbury Hospital offers a 50 week internship program in Medical Technology that is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). Theory and practice in the major disciplines in laboratory medicine are integrated through lectures and actual laboratory experience. Students are also trained in phlebotomy (blood drawing) and attend lectures in laboratory management.

The program accepts up to six students per year. The small class size permits individualized instruction in both laboratory and lecture settings. The academic year begins in mid June. The student attends lectures two days per week and spends three days in the individual laboratories gaining practical experience. Hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on laboratory days and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on lecture days.

The Danbury Hospital School of Medical Technology is committed to provide all the requirements for the completion of the program to those already enrolled students as offered at the time of their entry.
