Each year, thousands of people suffer serious, debilitating injuries or lose their lives unexpectedly. Addressing these emergencies are the men and women of EMS: well-equipped and highly trained, pre-hospital health care providers.

Western Connecticut Health Network is the region’s premier emergency medical training provider to local businesses, fire departments and interested citizens. Our training programs include first aid, CPR, EMT and other customized courses to obtain basic through advanced EMS qualifications.

After deciding to become an emergency medical services (EMS) provider and a member of the EMS team, you will have the ability to make a difference in the lives of others. Formed in 1999, Emergency Training Resources (ETR) a member of Western Connecticut Health Network is the premier EMS training agency in Greater Danbury offering initial and continuing education for public safety and health care professionals. During your Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, you will gain the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to be a valuable part of the emergency health care system.

Our staff has years of experience in all aspects of emergency response preparation and training. ETR offers hospital-based and on-site programs for all levels of pre-hospital emergency care and intervention including:

We can provide a variety of health, wellness, and safety programs customized to your organization’s specific goals and needs. We also provide EMS and safety education to nearly every public service agency in the greater Danbury area. Our corporate customers include many of the areas best-known companies and organizations.

We currently offer program packages through our affiliations with the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, and the National Safety Council (Green Cross). Our on-staff, State of Connecticut EMS Instructors can also provide certification to your personnel as Nationally Registered EMS providers.

Emergency Medical Technician Course - EMT-B

Danbury Hospital Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will offer a Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course starting on Monday, May 27, 2024 and ending August 10, 2024. Course participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are necessary to be a valuable part of the emergency healthcare system.

Certified EMT’s and paramedics will provide course participants hands-on experience and real-world practice in the Danbury Hospital Emergency Department and on ambulance vehicles. This training, in addition to classroom learning, will qualify course participants to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians exam. Upon passing this exam, course participants will receive a Connecticut and National EMT-Basic certification.
