Payment Options

The following payment options are available to help you pay the part of your bill not covered by your insurance:

You can pay your bill in full with cash, with a personal check or a credit card. Danbury Hospital accepts the following credit cards:

  • MasterCard
  • Visa
  • Discover
  • American Express

Please be advised that Danbury Hospital uses a process called electronic check conversion. Checks will be converted into electronic payments via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network, the same safe, reliable system used by hundreds of thousands of companies for Direct Deposit of payroll and by the federal government for benefit payments such as Social Security. The ACH system is a closed, secure network that is not accessible to the public and has been in existence for close to 40 years.

In our ongoing efforts to serve our community, Danbury Hospital has decided to move forward with this process as electronic transactions provide more privacy and federally regulated protection than paper checks, and electronic payments can result in less fraud and fewer errors. In addition, we can help lessen the environmental impact of using paper checks.

Therefore, when you provide a check as payment, Danbury Hospital will use the information from your check to make a one-time electronic funds transfer from your account.

You should expect the following:

  • You will not receive a cancelled check or check image with your bank statement
  • Generally, your payment may clear faster, please make sure you have adequate funds in your account to cover the amount of your (check) payment
  • If you are uncomfortable with this payment option - cash, credit cards and debit cards are also accepted as forms of payment

You can make check and credit card payment by phone, postal mail or in person:
